What About & Making Of
The cosplay of Gin Rey was an idea I've been entertaining myself for years, and it became a strategic choice to face the hot Japanese summer during the Komiket of August: I needed a costume fast to make and light to walk around in the crowd, easily recognizable and comfortable to wear.
This is a cosplay pretty simple: a short, white silk sheath dress with tiny side slits trimmed with gold, completed with a mandarin collar, gloves in black elastic lycra and other small details like the earring, the ring and the inseparable gun.
The most interesting aspect was undeniably the creation of the large pink rose on the chest.
I used the same technique employed for the flowers of Kasumi: drawing on fabric hardened with hot-pressed glue, shaping and finally applying it on the dress, with excellent results.
